Currahee Artist Guild
Sadly, our time at The Studio has come to a close. While we no longer maintain a physical gallery at The Studio, our community of artists are still going strong.
We are currently in the process of seeking another gallery space to call home.
Though we've bid farewell to our location at The Studio, our mission to support local artists continues. Please bear with us as we sort out next steps regarding our upcoming annual events, workshops and other activities.
Nadene Hartley
Even though I didn't do my first oil painting until the age of 30, I have been drawing my whole life. Painting hasn't been a burning obsession with me, but more a relaxation, an extension of myself. Most of my paintings are rendering of photos from magazines - I see it, get a feeling for it, I paint it. Looking back at my art, it always amazes me that I could create it.
Now in my seventies, I still have so many things to paint and draw and there now is time to do it. I was lucky to work as a Graphic Artist for part of my life and even owned my own business. Now fully retired, I have a studio and am trying to create more painting and pencil sketches. I have enjoyed exploring the art communities and hope to continue exhibiting.
