Currahee Artist Guild
Sadly, our time at The Studio has come to a close. While we no longer maintain a physical gallery at The Studio, our community of artists are still going strong.
We are currently in the process of seeking another gallery space to call home.
Though we've bid farewell to our location at The Studio, our mission to support local artists continues. Please bear with us as we sort out next steps regarding our upcoming annual events, workshops and other activities.
Gail Watson
706-886-3728
Gail Watson launched her career as an artist by taking classes from Dianne Mize in Clarkesville. She then began taking monthly workshops to advance her watercolor skills by learning many techniques from accomplished artists in the Atlanta area.
Her passion is painting nature using rich colors and combining the many techniques she has learned. Her favorite subjects are birds, wildlife, flowers, horses, and scenes from her travels. She uses her own photographs as a reference for her paintings, sometimes using multiple photographs for a pleasing composition. She continues to take watercolor workshops to assure her paintings will be exciting and on the cutting edge of watercolor artistry.
She is the current president of the Currahee Artist’s Guild, a signature member and board member of the Georgia Watercolor Society, a member of North Georgia Artist’s Guild, the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, the Chestatee Artists Group and the Sautee Nacoochee Art Center. Her work has been accepted into numerous juried shows in Georgia and South Carolina.
